Jackson and Yellowstone National Park From Salt Lake City

Covid-19 Disclaimer: Make sure to check the status of the states, regions, and establishments in which you’re planning to visit prior to travel. Many regions continue to see high infection rates and deaths, while many states and counties remain under varying stay-at-home orders. Those traveling from areas with high rates of Covid-19 should consider avoiding travel for now in order to reduce spread.

Let’s start with a little geography. Jackson is a city, and it’s located at the south end of Jackson Hole valley in northwest Wyoming. The valley marks the southern end of spectacular Grand Teton National Park, which begins at the southern end of Yellowstone National Park—America’s first national park, covering 3,500 square miles in three states (Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho).

For today’s travelers, Jackson is a dreamy destination to nestle yourself in nature. By day, discover all manner of adventure and recreation.

Visit Estes Park: ‘Base Camp to the Rockies’ Reopens for Recreation

Estes Park is open and waiting for you. Already called the ‘base camp’ to Rocky Mountain National Park, the Town of Estes Park provides a place to stock up on last-minute gear, enjoy a meal, and stretch your legs around a scenic mountain town.

A trip to a national park is all about time in the wilderness. We get it. But taking a few days to enjoy the activities and lodging just outside the park is a great option for anyone traveling with children or bookending their vacation with modern amenities.

The town’s trails and marina offer mountain views and fresh air for popular activities like hiking, running, biking, and paddleboarding. And when you’re done getting after it, the shops and eateries offer a change of pace.

From Delish

It goes without saying that summer 2020 looks different than the summers we’re used to. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, activities like eating out, going to the beach, and going to amusement parks have been put on hold for the safety of visitors and employees. As some states phase into their reopening of non-essential businesses, the latter are making plans to reopen safely.

Face masks are required at all of the parks, although the age requirement for kids to wear them may differ from place to place. Other policies, like more frequent cleaning of high traffic areas, social distancing, and reserving tickets in advance to control capacity are all pretty standard across the board for amusement parks so far.
